Arts Council Seeks Proposals for Four Targeted Initiatives
Winston-Salem, NC (October 26, 2016) — The Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County is seeking proposals for the following targeted initiatives:
Art in Unexpected Places
Early Learning and After-school Enrichment
Novant Health Arts and Healing Program

These initiatives are designed to encourage new creative endeavors, provide greater access to the arts for everyone in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County community, and foster innovative solutions to community needs.
“There is an extraordinary range of opportunities available through these four initiatives,” said Dara Silver, Arts Council Grant Program Manager. “ We know that arts and cultural activities can be transformational, and we look forward to working with both new and existing individuals and organizations who share our mission to expand the reach of Arts Council programming and have our community even more firmly rooted in arts and innovation.”
Triad-based non-profit organizations, businesses, individuals, or unaffiliated groups are eligible to apply for projects or programs to take place in Forsyth County. Recipients must demonstrate their commitment to the project or program by matching Arts Council funding dollar-for-dollar. In-kind services are accepted as matching funds. Preliminary proposals are due November 11, 2016 and finalists will be notified by November 16.
Winston-Salem, known as a City of Arts and Innovation, and Forsyth County have a robust arts community that enriches the lives of area residents every day and accounts in large part for the recognition they continue to receive as a great place to live, learn, work and play. The Arts Council raises funds and advocates for the arts, supports creative ventures in the arts, sponsors events in conjunction with other arts organizations, promotes and funds arts education, creates cultural and learning opportunities, develops social capital and aids economic development.
