    In partnership with Forsyth County high schools and Windsor Jewelers, The Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County is proud to present the Student Artist of the Month. All Forsyth County high schools (private, public, and charter) that have arts programming were invited to participate in the Student Artist of the Month program. Arts educators and administrators from each school will select one student each month for recognition based on academic rigor and artistic merit. Request for Qualifications The Journal Building Public Spaces Art Proposal Submission Deadline: March 8, 2017  Background and Location The property located on the corner of Marshall and Fifth Streets in downtown Winston-Salem is being developed for mixed use including offices and entertainment. The appointments and finishings will tell a story of the buildings’ history, which is rooted in journalism, media and the printed word. The oldest portion of the building was constructed in the late 1920s in a Georgian revival style.   Despite its look to the past for exterior style, the interior and systems were state-of-the-art for the late 1920s.  It was constructed of a steel frame with concrete fireproofing, a sprinkler system and the latest in printing technology.  ...

ArtPOP is a program that promotes local artists’ original work through available media space. This program is made possible by generous donations of space from local billboard companies, who partner with local arts groups to create the ArtPOP program. Work is juried, voted on and promoted in the market on available billboard space to a limited number of artists who are chosen for the program. The Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth county is excited to partner with ArtPOPStreetGallery and the Greensboro Division of Fairway Outdoor Advertising to offer this program in our community!
