The Executive Director, reporting directly to the Board of Directors, is responsible for overall implementation of the mission of the organization. The Executive Director will be a strategic leader who can develop, manage, market and evaluate AAWS programs and provide direction for the organization.  The successful candidate will understand the necessary strategies to operate an artsbased organization with a retail footprint as well as outreach programs throughout the community. The successful candidate will have proven nonprofit management skills, knowledge of budget setting and finances, excellent organizational skills, excellent management skills of both staff & volunteers, experience working with a Board of Directors, flexibility and the ability to communicate the long-term vision of the organization.

Diggs Gallery, WSSU Seeks Art Handler

Diggs Gallery at WSSU seeks an hourly art handler to assist with installation and de-installation of exhibitions.  The Art Handler performs a variety of technical assignments in support of curatorial staff. Work assignments are in areas such as the construction and installation of exhibits from predetermined specifications, and/or processing valuable works of art through receipt, handling, maintenance, display, and storage as specified by curatorial staff. They perform their daily functions independently under the general supervision of professional museum staff to insure adherence to overall design/display specifications and production schedules. Instructions usually indicate only what the desired result should be. They are responsible for planning and implementing work steps to meet desired results. They may oversee contractors (carpenters, painters, electricians) and/or train and oversee the work.

Bookmarks Hiring Part-Time Positions for New Bookstore Location

Part-time positions at Bookmarks are now available for experienced booksellers as well as candidates with prior retail experience, a love books, and strong communication skills. All roles will involve direct customer contact (handselling) with an emphasis on fulfilling Bookmarks’ nonprofit mission of fostering of love of reading and writing in the community. Open positions are primarily for evening and weekend hours; however, some Monday-Friday daytime hours may be scheduled.
