ASSOCIATED ARTIST SPOTLIGHT SHOW
Associated Artists of Winston-Salem
November 1, 2024 - January 6, 2025

Bring in the holiday season with Associated Artists of Winston-Salem, INC. (AAWS) as they open their highly acclaimed, juried exhibition, the Annual Artist Spotlight Show. A select group of artists who excel in their chosen medium will display oils, acrylics, watercolors, sculptures, and photographs.

“The breadth of talent tucked away in little pockets throughout our area is immense. Our organization's mission is to create spaces where all artists can be seen and enjoyed within the community in which they live. We host the Artist Spotlight each year in celebration of those individuals who have excelled in their artistry and are passionate about sharing their unique talents while inspiring others to pursue their passions.” -Susan Powers (President of AAWS)

This year, AAWS asked for cohesive collections that exemplify the artists' signature look and style. Over 175 members of the Associated Artists of Winston-Salem were eligible to enter. Twenty-six artists and 240 pieces applied, only 22% of the pieces were selected for the show for a final number of 11 artists and 54 pieces. Selected artists are:

This year's judge is nationally known and award-winning artist Addren Doss. Doss selected exhibitors and will award prizes for First, Second, and Third place at the reception. Prizes are a new addition to the exhibition process this year.

The opening reception for the show will also feature jazz band Ethernaut, which features Nathaniel Ward, Kassem Williams, and John Daniel Ray. Winston-Salem locals, the group is a familiar feature in the art scene. They have done prior projects and shows with Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County and the North Carolina Museum of Art Winston-Salem (formerly SECCA).
