About: Did you know that diamonds, jewels, and precious metals are dug out of dirt and mud before they are made beautiful by craftspeople?
Come spend a week learning to turn common recyclable items into beautiful jewelry. We will be learning how to turn items such as newspapers, water bottles, DVDs, and other common items into different jewelry components. At the end of the week, each participant will be challenged to create a piece of jewelry using their new skills.

About: Would you like to learn new ways to build interesting and fun projects?
Cardboard is one of the most available, low-cost, and easy to work with materials for building interesting things. Come learn to measure, cut and connect cardboard in ways that will give you new ideas how to use the material. We will be practicing measuring, learning tool safety, and trying new cardboard techniques. We will even explore computer aided design (CAD) and laser cutting. Campers will build a desktop storage container, make texture art, and create a project of their choosing that uses their new knowledge.

The Art of Metal Casting
Sessions: August 5 - 9, 9AM-12PM
About: Humans have been casting metal for around 6000 years. A copper frog is the oldest existing casting currently known; it is estimated that it was made in 3200 BC in Mesopotamia. Modern casting can be much more complex, but it doesn't have to be.
In this 5-day program, students will learn about metal casting as an art form. Students will create molds that will be included in Mixxer's Night of Fire - Iron Pour event in September, plus make a metal casting to take home that week.

Young Dancer Summer Intensive
Sessions: July 22 - August 1
About: Summary: Open to beginner and intermediate dancers 8 to 12 years of age. Audition required. For serious young dancers, this Summer Intensive provides the experience of dancing in a professional yet nurturing environment. We take into account developmental needs while providing the tools for students to develop as well-rounded artists. Classes include ballet, pointe or pre-pointe, male technique, character, contemporary or jazz, and body conditioning. Dancers will have 15 minutes between each class and a half-hour lunch break for a light snack. The intensive concludes with an informal presentation of their classwork.
