About the Artful Entrepreneur Professional Development Series: Made possible by Truist Charitable Fund, the Artful Entrepreneur series bridges creativity and entrepreneurial principles to provide individual artists with a modern approach to running their business. For the last five years, Arts Council has been working with artists to strengthen their small businesses and help them build economic pathways to mobility through professional development. Arts Council has partnered with community partners to address professional development in addition to rolling out independent artist career grants.
Community Partners
THE CMPND and The Artistic Elements Cohort: The Artistic Elements Cohort is composed of seven incredibly talented creatives, each bringing a unique blend of skills and ambitions. Their disciplines span music, poetry, videography, podcasting, photography, and multidisciplinary art. The CMPND: the place where elements of craft are refined and combined in excellence. Their goal is to empower creatives with the resources, education, and skills needed to take their passions to the next level.
Mixxer Community Makerspace and The Artists & Craftspersons Series: The Artists & Craftspersons Development Series (ACDS) empowers creatives through education, networking, and resource-sharing. Through strategic alliances, ACDS aims to elevate and connect the creative community. Mixxer Community Makerspace’s mission is to grow a creative community that provides equitable access to tech, tools, and knowledge regardless of experience or background. They support professional growth with casual meetups, workshops, and community-driven services, addressing critical needs and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Hustle Winston-Salem and The Ice House Entrepreneurship Series: The Ice House Entrepreneurship Series is based on the book "Who Owns the Ice House? Eight Life Lessons from an Unlikely Entrepreneur.” Participants will develop crucial entrepreneurial mindsets like creativity, vision, risk-taking, and resilience. Interactive lessons and discussions will equip them with tangible skills to turn their artistic passions into sustainable businesses. Hustle Winston-Salem’s mission is to help grow the local economy by accelerating underrepresented entrepreneurs with a focus on women, people of color, and marginalized business districts.

The CMPND Artistic Elements Resident Showcase
January 30, 2025 - March 30, 2025
Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County proudly presents The CMPND Artistic Elements Resident Showcase, marking the launch of The Artful Entrepreneur Professional Development Series, made possible by Truist Charitable Fund. This interactive exhibition will be on display in the Main Gallery of the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts from January 30, 2025 to March 30, 2025, with an opening reception and resident showcase on January 30, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
