Arts Council to host The CMPND Artistic Elements Resident Showcase

Arts Council to host The CMPND Artistic Elements Resident Showcase

Exhibition opening to take place Thursday, January 30 at 6:00PM

Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County presents The CMPND Artistic Elements Resident Showcase to launch “The Artful Entrepreneur” Professional Development Series made possible by Truist Charitable Fund. This interactive exhibition will be on display in the Main Gallery of Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts January 30 – March 30 with a resident showcase and reception Thursday, January 30, 6-8 PM.

The CMPND Artistic Elements Resident Showcase highlights the work of seven artists from the 2024 Artistic Elements cohort, representing disciplines including music, poetry, videography, photography, and multidisciplinary art. The residency, a collaboration between The CMPND and HUSTLE Winston-Salem provided these artists with access to The CMPND facilities, including recording studios, podcasting equipment, and creative workspaces. Through personalized guidance in marketing, organization, and business management, the program empowered artists to develop their creative practices into sustainable enterprises. Artistic Elements Resident Artists to be featured in the exhibition showcase are Sam Walter, Cetera Jacobs, Chanice Withers, Hausson Byrd, Jerald Roberts, Kristina Pavone, and Terence Walker.

The CMPND celebrates the power of creativity and its ability to foster growth, build connections, and inspire the Winston-Salem community. The showcase exhibit was brought to life with the support of MIXXER Community Makerspace, whose expertise and resources helped create a dynamic showcase for the artists’ work. Through the support of Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County and Truist Charitable Fund, The CMPND will host a second cohort of the Artistic Elements Residency as a part of “The Artful Entrepreneur” Professional Development Series. Applications for the 2025 Artistic Elements cohort will go live February 15.
