ARTIST SUPPORT GRANTS

Artist Support Grants (formerly Regional Artist Project Grants) is a regional grant program that provides direct support to individual artists for professional and artistic development, either to enhance their skills and abilities to create work, or to improve their business operations and capacity to bring the work to audiences. This program will provide grants of $500 to $2,000 to support committed, gifted individual artists and small, unincorporated groups of collaborating artists residing in Forsyth, Davidson, Davie, Guilford, and Randolph counties and is intended to support a broad range of talented artists in the genres of visual arts, performing arts, literary arts, music composition, choreography, and interdisciplinary arts.
The program is operated in partnership with The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro, Arts Davidson County, Davie County Arts Council, High Point Arts Council and The Randolph Arts Guild. Funding is provided by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
PUBLIC ART REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Public Art Commission is seeking artists to create proposals for public art projects within the City of Winston-Salem. No single project may have a budget over $19,999. Proposals may be two-dimensional or three-dimensional, permanent or temporary, and in any medium. This competition is open specifically to artists who are residents of Winston-Salem, NC.

AAWS has a new exhibit entry system through Showsubmit.com. It’s a user-friendly platform that will help make the entry process easier to navigate for everyone. Simply follow the links associated with the show you would like to enter, register and follow the prompts to submit your entry. You won’t need to resize or label your work; they will do it for you. However, be sure to crop out your frame. Show Submit will create an online exhibit once the exhibit goes live.

ONOP has welcomed a cohort of 18 cities and towns. Winston-Salem, NC is one of the 18 cohorts selected and the only city in NC. Each site will be led by local artists, municipal officials, and community health leaders, who will work together to create large-scale participatory art projects with cross-sector collaboration at the center of sustainable change.
The Local Site Team includes a cohort of 5 partners: Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County, Thomas S. Kenan Institute for the Arts at UNCSA, United Health Centers, City of Winston-Salem Department of Community Development, and Forsyth County Health and Human Services.
United Health Center’s (UHC) mission is to provide equitable care that builds healthier communities. They are committed to ensuring access to high-quality, affordable, comprehensive healthcare for all residents of Forsyth County, regardless of their insurance status or their ability to pay. United Health Centers, a partner with the ONOP Local Site Team, is looking for art that is calming, beautiful, uplifting and offers a sense of hope and healing for their patients, visitors, and team members.

NOVANT HEALTH CALL TO ARTISTS
APPLICATION DEADLINE SEPTEMBER 30, 2023
Novant Health is seeking regional artist submissions for our internal catalogue used to select art for greater Winston-Salem area facilities.
Novant Health is searching for art that is calming, beautiful, uplifting and offers a sense of hope and healing for our patients, visitors and team members. The submission period is open from Sept. 1 to Sept. 30. Artists must be at least 18 years old.
Acceptable subjects include subtle abstracts, landscapes, botanicals with an emphasis on native species and scenes of regional landscapes, architecture and historical sites.
Novant Health will consider original art mediums that translate to 2D reprints, and which have been completed in the last eight years. Artists with work included in the catalogue will be eligible for compensation when the work is selected to be used in a specific location.
Artists must digitally submit their work, but will not be responsible for printing, framing or installation. The selection process will take place mid-October and artists will be notified of acceptance no later than Dec. 15, 2023. THE CREATE TEAM
APPLICATION DEADLINE OCTOBER 15, 2023
The CREATE Team is a collaboration between community members and academics, united by our commitment to addressing health disparities in communities of color. We are currently hosting a crowdsourcing open call to identify creative visuals/artwork that will support pandemic prevention messaging.
Participation is open to individuals 18 years of age or older. Individuals with an interest in community-centered artwork are strongly encouraged to submit. Our open call embraces diverse visual art mediums, such as:
• Video
• Illustrations/drawings
• Graphic design
• Paintings
• Photographs
• Mixed media
The top submissions to this open call will be used to help develop storyboards and content for an upcoming design-a-thon focused on pandemic prevention campaigns.
The top finalists of the open call could win up to $2,500 in cash prizes.
