“Hope for the Hills” concert on December 5 showcases local talent for a cause
Winston-Salem, NC (November 27, 2024) – Some of Winston-Salem’s brightest stars are set to take the spotlight on December 5 to raise money for artists impacted by Hurricane Helene.
An unforgettable evening of arts entertainment, Hope for the Hills: A Showcase Benefiting Western NC will feature live performances from SonCaribe Latin Dance, The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem, Best of Ballroom Dance Studio, Spring Theatre, and Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance; poetry from award-winning writer Charmaine Cadeau; captivating musical acts from singer-songwriter Emorie Hush, world musician Colin Allured, progressive jazz ensemble Ethernaut, and more.
All ticket proceeds and donations collected will go to the NC Arts Disaster Relief Fund which supports artists and arts organizations in western North Carolina impacted by Hurricane Helene.
“Since the hurricane devastated the western part of our state, artists in our own community have been asking ‘how can we help?’. Arts Council is glad to contribute our resources – providing the venue, equipment, and staffing – to produce an event that enables local artists to use their talents to raise money for this important cause.” says Corinne Bass, Arts Council’s Director of Programming.
“We’re particularly excited to feature performances from Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance, an Asheville-based dance troupe that brings their productions to Winston-Salem each year. Terpsicorps is a unique part of our city’s artistic landscape, and we’re eager to help them and other arts groups in their region regain stable footing.”
Hope for the Hills: A Showcase Benefiting Western NC takes place on Thursday, December 5 at Hanesbrands Theatre (209 N Spruce Street). Arrive at 6pm for a reception featuring complimentary food and drinks from local vendors including wine from Raffaldini Vineyards, followed by the 7pm showcase.
Attendees can choose their level of support – tickets start at $20, and are available online at intothearts.org/hope-for-the-hills or in person on the day of the show.
