Arts Council and Forsyth County Bringing Five Concerts to County Parks this Summer
All events free and family friendly
Winston-Salem, NC (April 23, 2020) -- The Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County has announced the lineup for the 2020 Summer Parks Concert Series with three performances at Tanglewood Park and two at Triad Park. West End Mambo, the popular, high-energy classic salsa and Latin jazz band, will kick off the series Sunday, June 21, at Tanglewood. All events and parking are free and family-friendly.
This is the fifth season for the Parks Concert Series , which is a collaborative presentation by Forsyth County and The Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County.
Randy Eaddy, President and CEO of The Arts Council, said, “While nothing is certain at this point, we are taking an optimistic approach and planning an exciting, five-concert 2020 season to open in late June. These are open-air concerts with plenty of space for people to bring lawn chairs or spread blankets, enjoy a picnic or order from food trucks, and enjoy extraordinary, free concerts. 2020 is our fifth season, and this collaboration with Forsyth County has been an amazingly successful coming together of the resources of The Arts Council and the County for the benefit of our residents.”

David Plyler, Chair, Forsyth County Board of Commissioners, said, “In totally unpredictable times, we decided to go with a best case scenario – that, by late June, a concert in a wide-open park space would be a part of what some are calling “the new normal’ . Our parks are one of Forsyth County’s greatest assets. They have been a place in recent weeks where people practicing ‘social distancing’ could exercise and safely relieve stress. We are proud of this collaboration with The Arts Council. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and say a little prayer!”
The concerts and parking at both parks are free. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs. They may bring a picnic or patronize food trucks on site. Refreshments such as soda, water, beer and wine are available, with all proceeds supporting The Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County. No outside alcohol is permitted.
