Arts Council serves as a leader in lifting up, creating awareness, and providing support to grow and sustain artistic, cultural and creative offerings throughout our region.
Your donation to Arts Council’s Community Fund for the Arts helps to provide support for hundreds of annual grants and programs including but not limited to:

General Operating Support Grants to support entities like the Winston-Salem Symphony, Bookmarks, and more.

Arts for Every Body Community Project Grants to support events from organizations like the Mixxer Community Makerspace, Authoring Action, and more.

Wells Fargo Arts-in-Education Grants to support programs like the Mary Starling Concert for all fifth-grade students across WS/FCS.

Special Initiatives, Community Projects, and other Arts and Cultural Opportunities

Arts Council facilities including Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts, Sawtooth School for Visual Arts, Hanesbrands Theatre, and the Arts Council Extension Building.

Arts Council invested a total of $300,000 in FY 24 in facilities subsidies to support local arts organizations and ensure that creative spaces remain accessible and affordable.

In FY 25, thanks to the Community Fund for the Arts, we invested over
$1 million in grants across the community.

Your contribution to Arts Council brings hands-on arts experiences to thousands of students each year.

The Arts-in-Education Grant connects artists and arts organizations with elementary, middle and high school students by funding programs designed to awaken their intellectual and creative curiosity. In FY 25, Arts Council invested $142,257 through this grant program for our public school system.
